Spicy Ham Balls
Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup soft stale bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
2 cups ground ham
1 cup applesauce
1 can (29 ounces) peach halves
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Chopped parsley
Directions
Mix first 5 ingredients well and shape in 8 balls. Cover bottom of shallow baking dish with applesauce. Arrange peach halves, hollow side up, on applesauce and put a ham ball in the center of each peach. Sprinkle with brown sugar and bake in moderate oven (350°F) about 25 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley.
